Hi! my name is Rhonda Chartrand and I was Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on July 30, 2009, after suffering from the classic signs of Diabetes; extreme Fatigue, extreme thirst and hunger. frequent urination, Dizzy spells, wounds that were slow to heal. Anyways, I went to my doctor for these problems that were going on for 2 and a half months, the end of July, around the 29th, went for a fasting blood glucose test, a couple hours later, I was told to go to my doctor's the next day, so I did. and That's when he told me, my blood sugars were 11.9 mmol, that classified me as a type 2 diabetic. Anyways, I was put on Metformin, the diabetic drug which helped to lower my blood sugars.I went through the occasional insulin reactions, nothing major and also was referred to a Diabetes educator and a Dietician, I followed my diet as well as learned about counting Carbs and basically taking care of myself and in 14 weeks, I lost 38 - 40 lbs by the following year in April, 2010 they took me off my meds and I've been doing great until, this year. I had Pneumonia which made my asthma worse, and spiked my blood sugars. so I'm back on the pills, but I don't let this bother me. I can get off the meds like before
