These Old Fashioned Pretzels
are a low carbohydrate recipe and makes a great snack for diabetic people. Ingredients for Old Fashioned Pretzels 1 package (1 pound) frozen, thawed bread dough 1 egg white, lightly beaten 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon coarse salt 1. Preheat oven to 400. Spray 2 baking sheets with vegetable cooking spray. 2. Divide dough in half. On a lightly floured surface, using a lightly floured rolling pin, roll each dough half to a 9-x 7-inch rectangle. Cut each rectangle into nine 1- x 7-inch strips. Shape each strip into a pretzel. Moisten ends with water and press to seal. 3. Place pretzels on prepared baking sheets. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 20 minutes. 4. In a small bowl, combine egg white and water. Mix well. Brush pretzels with egg white mixture. Sprinkle evenly with salt. Bake pretzels, in batches, until golden, about 15 minutes. Place baking sheets on wire racks and cool slightly. Freezer Bake pretzels as recipe directs and let them cool completely. Wrap pretzels tightly in freezer wrap and freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost completely. To reheat, place pretzels on baking sheets and bake at 350, until heated through, about 10 minutes.
